Terms of service

By creating an account or using woop.day you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. You must be at least 18 to use woop.day. If we update these terms in a way that matters, the app asks you to accept the change before you continue.

woop.day is a self-reflection and goal-setting tool. It is not therapy, medical care, or a substitute for either, and no clinician is involved in what the coach writes. The coach is an AI language model: it can be helpful, and it can be wrong.

If you are in crisis, do not use this app to get help. In the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call your local emergency number. woop.day cannot monitor your writing for emergencies and cannot act on what you write.

woop.day is in alpha. Features may change, break, or be removed; the service may be unavailable; and despite real care, bugs may affect your data. Export your journal from Settings whenever you want a copy — that control exists precisely because this is prerelease software.

Everything you write belongs to you. You give us only the limited permission needed to run the service — storing your entries, sending the text you ask the coach about to an AI model, rendering your share cards. We don't sell your content, and we don't use it to train AI models. Deleting your account deletes your content per the privacy policy.

By default the coach runs on a key we fund — the house key — with a daily allowance. Adding your own AI provider key lifts that allowance; your use of that provider is then governed by their terms and billed by them. Handwriting reading, coach texts, the Core Sample and journal memory search also run on keys we fund, as described in the privacy policy. We may adjust allowances at any time.

Coach texting is optional and off until you verify a phone number — verifying is how you turn texts on, and the verify button says so. You can adjust or turn off any kind of text in Settings. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop them all; texting START turns them back on. Check-ins you schedule — including ones the coach offers and you accept — send only because you set them up, and you can remove them in Settings at any time.

Don't use woop.day to break the law, to harm others, to probe or disrupt the service, or to access another person's account or data. Templates you publish to the marketplace must be yours to share and free of spam, impersonation, and harmful content — we may remove templates and, for abuse, suspend accounts.

You can stop any time: export your data, then delete your account from Settings — deletion is real and described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. We can also discontinue the service; if we ever do, we'll give you notice and time to export.

woop.day is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent the law allows, woop.day and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service; and total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the past year (today, that is $0 — woop.day is free). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where woop.day's operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
